Caitlyn Jenner considering Senate run

Olympic gold medalist and reality star Caitlyn Jenner (pictured front at the Trump inauguration festivities) told AM 970 in New York on Sunday that she is seriously considering running for the United States Senate.

Jenner, who prominently once stated Trump would be good for women's rights, said she was looking to get more involved in politics and commented: "The political side of it has always been very intriguing to me. Over the next six months or so, I gotta find out where I can do a better job. Can I do a better job from the outside? Kind of working the perimeter of the political scene, being open to talking to anybody? Or are you better from the inside, and we are in the process of determining that."

The transgender activist made her first remarks against the president earlier this year in regard to his decision to cut protections for transgender students earlier this year. Jenner said: "I have a message for President Trump from, well, one Republican to another. This is a disaster. And you can still fix it. You made a promise to protect the LGBTQ community. Call me."

Jenner won an Olympic gold medal in the decathlon as Bruce Jenner in 1976. Her children are reality TV stars Kendall Jenner and Kylie Jenner.
