German consumer prices up 0.8% in November

Consumer prices in Germany rose 0.8% year on year in November, according to Destatis' preliminary report released on Tuesday. Compared to October, inflation increased 0.1%.

The forecast predicted a growth of 0.5% in the prices of goods, compared to the same month last year. This included the energy sector, which is expected to decrease 2.7%, and food, which is estimated to go up 1.2%. Prices in of services are expected to gain 1.1% in November year on year.

The harmonized index of consumer prices is estimated to grow 0.7% in November, compared to the same period last year. It is expected to remain unchanged from the previous month.
