EIA: US oil inventories rise by 4.1 million barrels

United States oil inventories increased by 4.1 million barrels to 483.1 million barrels for the week ending January 6, US Energy Information Administration reported on Wednesday. Week before that, oil inventories dropped by 7.1 million barrels.

Crude oil refinery inputs averaged 17.1 million barrels per day last week, which is 481,000 per day more than the previous week. Refineries operated at 93.6% of their capacity.

Crude oil imports averaged 9.1 million barrels per day in the same period, which is 1.9 million barrels per day more than the week before that.
