Trump pushes for bringing America back together

United States President Donald Trump reiterated on Thursday there is no collusion between his campaign and the Kremlin, describing America as a divided country, and pledged his top priority would be to bring the "great country back together".

When asked to comment on the appointment of former FBI chief Robert Mueller as special counsel for the investigation into Russia's interference in the 2016 presidential election at a joint press conference with Colombian President Juan Manuel Santos, Trump drawn attention to the tremendous progress that has been made since his taking office.

Trump also preferred not to comment on the recent sudden dismissal of FBI chief James Comey at length, but just said he never asked him to drop the investigation into dealings of his former national security advisor Michael Flynn, and added Comey "had poor performance."

At the press conference, the two presidents pledged further joint fight against organized crime, including Illegal mining, drug and human trafficking. President Trump also congratulated Santos on winning the Nobel Peace Prize.
