US markets open higher on lower Trump worries

Markets in the United States opened in the green on Friday as investors regained confidence on decreased fears caused by Trump administration's political turmoil. Earlier in the week, reports emerged the president revealed confidential information to Russians and had attempted to stop the FBI probe into former National Security Advisor Michael Flynn's alleged contacts with foreign officials. However, investment incentives rose as traders became less concerned with the political situation in the country as US President Donald Trump's business-friendly agendas overweighed those fears.

The Dow Jones Industrial Average index gained 0.20% at the open, rising around 30 points. The main advancer was Caterpillar, adding 1.25%.

The S&P 500 started trade 0.36% higher, mostly led by the increases in information technology (IT) industry.

The Nasdaq 100 opened 0.57% in the green.

The US dollar declined 0.81% against the euro, changing hands for 0.8934 at 3:40 pm CET.
