US stocks start flat as earnings come in

Markets in the United States opened flat on Monday as investors digested corporate results. Before the bell, BlackRock said its earnings per share in the second quarter rose 10% compared to the same period last year and stood at $5.22 on revenue of $2.97 billion. Netflix is due to report after the trading session ends.

The Dow Jones edged down 0.03% at 3:30 pm CET. JPMorgan lost 0.50% at 3:31 pm CET.

The Nasdaq 100 was up 0.04% at 3:31 pm CET. The best performer was Nvidia as it climbed 1.12% at 3:34 pm CET.

The S&P 500 traded flat at 3:30 pm CET. Freeport-McMoRan added 1.83%, while FedEx dropped 1.46% at 3:32 pm CET.

The euro dipped 0.04% against the dollar to go for 1.1464 at 3:32 pm CET and sterling declined 0.18% compared to the US currency to sell for 1.3073 at 3:33 pm CET.
