Consumer confidence in Eurozone rises 1.4 points

The consumer confidence indicator of the euro area added 1.4 points to come in at 3.6 points below zero in April, according to the flash data the European Commission's Directorate General for Economic and Financial Affairs (DG ECFIN) released on Thursday. The gauge for the 19-country bloc is nine points higher than the average since 1990.

In the European union as a whole, the seasonally adjusted measure of consumer morale ticked up 0.8 points last month to 3.4 points under the flat line. When compared to the average level in 1990, the indicator is 8.2 points higher.
