European stocks close with gains

European equities closed with gains on Wednesday as oil prices jumped on EIA data and investors anticipated tomorrow's European Central Bank decision on interest rates.

The FTSE 100 grew 0.31%. Burberry was the best performed as its shares soared 4.06%. Yesterday, the luxury brand announced its U.K. sales in the first half of 2016 increased by 30% due to the decline of the pound. The company's sales were also 2% higher worldwide.

The DAX was up 0.13% when trade ended. Significant gains were recorded in the banking and automotive sectors.

The CAC 40 closed 0.25% in the green. Accor and Carrefour led the gains with their stock soaring 5.02% and 4.69%, respectively.

WTI for November delivery rose 2.94% to sell for $51.77 per barrel at 5:28 p.m. CET. International benchmark Brent for December delivery jumped 2.44% to sell for $52.93 at 5:33 p.m. CET.

The pound fell 0.18% against the dollar to go for 1.2275 at 5:58 p.m. CET.
