May: We will stamp out hateful ideology

We will stamp out extremism and hateful ideology, including islamophobia, British Prime Minister Theresa May said on Monday in wake of the Finsbury Park attack which left one man dead and at least 10 others injured.

“There has been far too much tolerance of extremism in this country for many years,” the prime minister asserted, adding that her government will be reviewing its counter-terrorism strategy and establishing a new commission for countering extremism.

May lauded the police for responding to the incident within one minute and citizens who detained the suspected attacker, a 48 year old man, who authorities believe acted alone. “This extremism is every bit as insidious and destructive to our values and our way of live” as the previous attacks which rocked the UK in the past months, she continued, but promised that “Our way of life will prevail.”
