Moscow demands OPCW explains selective victims in Syria

Russian Defense Ministry demanded on Thursday that the Organization for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons (OPCW) explains selective victims in Syrian gas attack in Idlib province, TASS reported. Moscow stated it want the OPCW to disclose why and how the members of the White Helmets [human rights campaigners] organization remained unharmed during the alleged sarin attack.

“If it is true that sarin was used in Khan Shaykhun, how can the OPCW then account for the fact the charlatans from the White Helmets organization were hustling and bustling inside sarin clouds with no protective gear on,” the ministry’s spokesman Igor Konashenkov stated.

Yesterday, the OPCW stated it had found traces of sarin gas or another similar nerve agent during the gas attack investigation in the Syrian town of Khan Sheykhun in Idlib province. However, Moscow said that it has no evidence that any member of the OPCW visited the town, making the origin of the collected samples unclear.
