N. Korea says US 'mugged' its diplomats

North Korea's Foreign Ministry accused the United States of "mugging" the country's delegation carrying a diplomatic package in New York, Korean Central News Agency (KCNA) reported on Sunday.

According to the report, US officials attacked North Korean diplomats at John F. Kennedy International Airport on Friday, seizing a diplomatic package, as the group was about to fly back home. The delegation was returning from a United Nations conference on the rights of persons with disabilities that was held in New York, where such "outrageous muggings" are rampant, the ministry said. It also raised the question of whether UN headquarters should be located in New York after all.

Pyongyang called on Washington to explain the incident, adding that, otherwise, it will be "totally responsible for all the consequences to be entailed."
