Mosque chairman: This was cowardly attack

The chairman of the Finsbury Park Mosque, Mohammed Kozbar, said Monday’s attack on worshipers was a "cowardly attack" and urged Muslims going to mosques to be vigilant.

He added the assault in the early morning that left one person dead and 10 injured was no different than the incidents on London Bridge and in Manchester Arena. British Prime Minister Theresa May said the authorities were treating it as a "potential terrorist attack."

The video of the incident obtained by AP showed the police arrest a Caucasian man. London police said earlier they have apprehended the 48-year old driver of the van and took him to a hospital as a precaution. Eyewitnesses told the media they saw three people leaving the vehicle but police said they haven’t identified any other suspects.
