Samsung CEO resigns

The CEO of Samsung Kwon Oh-huyn (pictured) resigned saying the South Korean giant was facing an unprecedented crisis.

Kwon resignation came after Samsung Electronics profit is expected to rise 26.65 % in the third quarter. The company is also struggling to overcome bribery scandal that sent company’s head Lee-Jae-Yong in jail.

"As we are confronted with unprecedented crisis inside out, I believe that time has now come for the company (to) start anew, with a new spirit and young leadership to better respond to challenges arising from the rapidly changing IT industry", Kwon said in a statement.
