Treasuries trade lower as yields rebound

United States government bonds were lower on Thursday as yields moved slightly above their lowest level since November. However, market participants continued trimming their bets that the Federal Reserve will opt for faster monetary tightening this year on weaker-than-expected economic data.

The yield on 10-year Treasuries rose 1.06 basis points to 2.2249% at 12:26 pm CET, while the yield on two-year bonds edged up 0.39 basis points to 1.1805%. The yield on 30-year debt increased 0.85 basis points to 2.8814% at the same time.

In Europe, the yield on 10-year German Bunds, a benchmark for the Eurozone, climbed 2.9 basis points to 0.232%, whereas the yield on British gilts of the same maturity advanced 1.3 basis points to 1.078%.
