US stocks open lower as market turmoil continues

Markets in the United States opened with losses on Tuesday as volatile trade on Wall Street continued. On Monday all major indices finished sharply higher with the Dow Jones jumping over 400 points. Investors digested the Trump administration's budget proposal and infrastructure plan released a day earlier and focused on corporate earnings. PepsiCo reported a 152% decline in fourth-quarter EPS primarily due to a $2.5 billion net tax expense as a result of the US tax reform, while Baidu is set to announce results after the session ends.

The Dow Jones fell 0.64% at 3:30 pm CET. The worst performer was Microsoft whose shares dropped 1.03% at 3:47 pm CET.

The Nasdaq 100 was down 0.58% at 3:30 pm CET. Henry Schein led the losses as the healthcare firm plunged 11.10% at 3:32 pm CET.

The S&P 500 decreased 0.62% at 3:30 pm CET.

The euro rose 0.49% against the dollar to go for 1.2351 at 3:32 pm CET
