Wall Street seen higher as Brexit talks begin

United States stock index futures pointed to a higher open on Monday as the first round of the United Kingdom’s Brexit negotiations began in Brussels with investors seeking clarity about the terms of the UK’s withdrawal from the bloc.

In the US, President Donald Trump’s American Technology Council will convene for the first time, as chief executives of Apple, Amazon, Alphabet and Microsoft will be in attendance to discuss how to help the government modernize and cut its technology costs.

The Dow Jones is expected to add 0.35% at the open, the S&P 500 is seen 0.3% higher, while the Nasdaq 100 is seen rising 0.80%. The euro was flat to lower against the US dollar, buying 1.11928 at 2:06 pm CET, as the pound gained 0.09% against the greenback, going for 1.27918 at the same time.
