White House: Trump condemns hate groups

The White House confirmed that United States President Donald Trump condemned individual hate groups that sparked the violent protests in Charlottesville which ended in deadly, race-fueled clashes.

A spokeswoman said Trump denounces "all forms of violence, bigotry and hatred" and that he "very strongly" condemns hate groups such as " white supremacists, KKK and neo-Nazis."

The White House issued a statement saying that "of course" Trump was speaking about white supremacists, neo-Nazis and all extremist groups in his initial remarks. The statement comes in response to criticism leveled at the president for his remarks in the hours after violent clashes.
